Boys' IIIs Basketball

The boys’ IIIs basketball Knight of the Week is James Alves '22. In both games last week, James put in a tremendous effort defensively and contributed points, assists, steals, and rebounds. James is a hard worker that supports and motivates his teammates on and off the court. He is an exemplary student academically and is committed to achieving his very best in the classroom. James is a role model on the team and typifies the character of a Marianapolis student-athlete.

Girls' Varsity Basketball

Girls’ varsity basketball’s Knight of the Week is Rachel Ullstrom '22. Rachel has had a phenomenal start to the Winter season. Not only is Rachel one of the top performers on the basketball court, but she displays exemplary leadership, a positive attitude, and an unbelievably impressive work ethic every single day. Rachel takes her role as a captain serious and leads by both her words and actions both on and off the basketball court.

Varsity Wrestling

Varsity wrestling’s Knight of the Week is Johnna Romanek '22. As a first-year wrestler, Johnna has done everything the coaches have asked of her, and more. In addition to practice and varsity matches, Johnna has been wrestling in girls' tournaments on weekends to get more experience. Her hard work and dedication are just starting to pay off. The coaches were especially impressed as Johnna wrestled a second exhibition match this past week against an opponent 2 weight classes above her after having pinned her own opponent 5 minutes prior. This outlook on wrestling—to do whatever it takes to get better—will take Johnna a long way.
