Fueling the Future: Abbie O'Brien '23 Advances in Science and Engineering
Marianapolis alumna Abbie O’Brien ’23 has been making significant strides in the fields of science and engineering. Over the summer, she interned at the Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, Illinois, where she participated in a 10-week research program within the Chemical and Fuel Cycle Technologies Division. During her internship, she co-authored a published research paper investigating the real-time characterization of salt aerosols generated from static and sparged molten salt.

Abbie is currently attending Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY, where she is majoring in Chemical Engineering with double minors in Biomedical Engineering and Biology. She is on track to graduate with her master’s degree in just four and a half years. It is no surprise that she has already accepted another internship offer for the summer of 2026. She looks forward to an enriching experience at GE Vernova in Schenectady, NY.

Keep up the excellent work, Abbie! We are excited to see all that is ahead in your journey!
