Marianapolis Varsity Ultimate took their second loss of the young season on Thursday, falling at home to Xavier HS 0-15. The Knights couldn't get a zone offense working in the stiff wind and were short a couple key players as well. The hustle award for the match went to Jerry Huang, who continues to provide rabid defense in cup and man-to-man situations. Mike Rice played solid defense, accumulating a team-high 5 defensive blocksand the team kept their turnovers to a season-low 30, but Xavier just had too much firepower. The loss highlights ample opportunity for improvement, as MUltimate visits Xavier later this season, and will likely see them again at the State Tournament and NEPSUL. MUltimate travels to CHCH this weekend for its first tournament of the year. Go Knights!
