Parents at MPS
Marianapolis welcomes parent involvement and appreciates all that our parents do
for the school, from entrusting us with the care of their children, to
joining the MOMs or DADs groups, to simply sharing their good feelings
about MPS with prospective families. Parents are always welcome on
campus. Day parents are often seen at games, drama productions,
spaghetti dinners, or chatting with their child’s advisor in the
hallways. For our boarding parents, though distance prevents them from
visiting campus as frequently, they still maintain contact via email
with their child's advisor, visit us at Fall Parents Weekend, as well
as whenever time allows during the year. Regardless of day or boarding
parent designation, MPS parents know that Marianapolis is their school
community too.
The Marianapolis MOMs group hosts various activities throughout the school year. They are especially known for providing delicious refreshments for students and staff alike. From Mardi Gras Ice Cream Sundaes in February, an amazing International Day feast, to Dodge Ball Tournaments and Teacher Appreciation Days, the MOMs bring their love and joy to our hallways, dorms and classrooms.
Our Dads as well, are a key part of our community. One annual event is Steak and Rake Day, a morning of campus clean up following Rake Day, when our dads bring their yard equipment and expertise to clean up the piles of leaves our students made on Rake Day the day before.
